Midget – Program Overview

The Midget program is for players that are 15 through 17 years of age by December 31st of the season. All players will participate in a evaluation process in September of each season. Players will be sorted into in to A (Contact) and B (Non-contact) Divisions based on the results of the evaluation process. At the Midget level, no practice ice is allocated from the Kanata Minor Hockey Association, the teams play a game only schedule. Ice for the Midget program occurs on weeknights and/or weekends. Specific times will vary from week to week. Most Midget ice time will be allocated in the evening ending no later than 11:00 pm during both weeknights and weekends. Weekend afternoons may also be scheduled. The Midget season runs from late-September until mid-April

Teams may participate in tournaments during the season. The number of tournaments will vary by team and level and may include both local and out of town events.

Team fees will be levied by individual teams to cover the cost of items such as extra ice, tournament fees, team events etc. This fee is in addition to the registration fee and will be discussed with the coach and/or team manager at the beginning of the season.
