Discipline and Appeals Policy

  • Responsibility for Discipline and Appeals (D&A) within KMHA rests with the Chairman, Discipline and Appeals.
  • KMHA D&A may, upon decision of a D&A committee, impose additional sanctions over and above the minimum sanctions defined by the ODMHA Code of Discipline.
  • KMHA D&A may, upon decision of a D&A committee, impose sanctions on KMHA members for violations of the KMHA Code of Conduct.
  • All players receiving a Gross Misconduct or Match Penalty will automatically be called to a meeting with the KMHA D&A Committee.
  • All Coaches receiving a Game Misconduct will automatically be called to a meeting with the KMHA D&A Committee.
  • No KMHA member may refuse to cooperate with either a Risk Management and Safety or Discipline and Appeals investigation. Refusal to cooperate will result in the immediate suspension of the member.
  • KMHA D&A hearings will be chaired by the Chairman Discipline and Appeals. In the event the Chairman D&A is unable to convene a hearing the Chairman may designate the President or one of the Vice Presidents to chair the hearing.
  • A D&A Committee will be made up of at least 3 members including the Chairman of D&A.
